Underway

The scheduled maintenance is now underway. We'll keep you updated on our progress.

Scheduled

The Broadcom authentication systems used by Symantec cloud product administrators will transition to Broadcom’s VIP Authentication Hub (AuthHub) in 2025.

Broadcom systems support two types of authentication experience: federated and non-federated.

  • You are a “federated user” if you use your corporate credentials to log in to Symantec cloud product portals/consoles. Organizations that have linked Symantec administrative access with their own identity providers will need to follow a different process to re-federate their identity provider with Symantec before the end of April 2025. Instructions to do this will be linked in the knowledge base article below.
  • You are a “non-federated” user if you enter credentials directly into the Broadcom Login service or into a product portal when accessing a cloud-based management interface.

Non-federated customers with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled will be required to set up a new MFA security configuration. The default is now the VIP Access application from Symantec (https://vip.symantec.com/).

Note: You can utilize email or other third-party software tokens (such as Google Authenticator or Okta Verify) for MFA; however, support queries must be directed to the third-party provider.

For more information on the transition, see https://knowledge.broadcom.com/external/article/372941.

Impact

  • Non-federated customers with MFA enabled must confirm their identity during the login process, and then follow the on-screen instructions to set up at least one MFA option, such as email-based one-time-password, biometrics from the PC/laptop, or a software token such as Symantec VIP Access. Other third-party software tokens can be configured via the Use another app option.

Required Action

After the VIP AuthHub launch on January 21, 2025, log in to the Cloud SWG portal (https://portal.threatpulse.com/). Follow the instructions to confirm your identity, set-up a new password and if enabled configure an MFA.
