Symantec will perform a service-wide deployment of the Web Security Service (WSS) on February 26, 2021, starting at 22:00 UTC for a duration of 1 hour.
As communicated on February 9, 2020, via email, the legacy “Unified Agent” (v4 and below) will not be supported after March 31, 2021. As part of that effort, old versions of the Unified Agent installation option will be removed from the WSS Portal on February 26, 2021.

Impact
During the maintenance period, Administrators may need to re-authenticate to the Cloud Portal. Expect intermittent portal availability and existing authenticated portal sessions to be ended. Real-time traffic filtering will not be impacted by this maintenance. However, customers may experience a brief outage where a log download request could timeout and a re-request may be necessary.
Following the February 26th, 2021 WSS Portal update, the Unified Agent installation option will be removed.
Following the March 31st, 2021 EOM, no further troubleshooting or enhancements related to the Unified Agent software will be supported. Currently there is no plan to block connections to WSS from older Unified Agents; however, this policy is subject to change without further notice. All other aspects of our services are expected to function as normal.
Required Action
Please prioritize certification, testing, and deployment of new Agents in order to benefit from continued support on modern operating systems, security updates, and feature enhancements.
