WebPulse Categorization Update
Symantec WebPulse is changing the following categorization on March 24, 2026.
Google Search AI Mode categorization will be updated to Generative AI to reflect the AI search capabilities. The updated categorization will affect search prompts that enable the new Google AI Mode.
The categorization change will be done by targeting the query string parameter that changes a regular Google Search to AI Mode prompt (i.e. udm=50)
Action Required
Make any required policy changes prior to this date. Regular Google searches will remain the same. AI Mode Search will now be categorized as "Generative AI".
