The maintenance is now complete. Thanks for your patience.
The scheduled maintenance is now underway. We'll keep you updated on our progress.
Update:
Symantec, a division of Broadcom, plans to conduct maintenance to the Web Security Service (WSS) in the Shanghai (SHA1) and Beijing (PEK1) data centers on August 19, 2022, from 15:00 UTC to 23:59 UTC. This window replaces the previously announced maintenance for Shanghai and Beijing for Friday, August 12, 2022.
Important Changes for Explicit-Proxy Customers in Mainland China ONLY
As a result of a new government regulatory requirement in China, all explicit proxy connections to WSS must be directed to new Chinese-registered hostnames. The new hostnames are available now, therefore, we strongly recommend making these changes as quickly as possible. There is no need to wait until the maintenance window to switch. The new hostnames appear below based on connection scenario:
Remember: These changes only apply to devices that are connecting to Shanghai or Beijing.
SEP WTR: sep-wtr.wss.broadcom.cn
Explicit Proxy and Proxy Forwarding: proxy.wss.broadcom.cn
New country or data center specific hostnames for Shanghai and Beijing for Explicit Proxy or Proxy Forward can be found in KB208150.
The underlying IP addresses for the above hostnames will not deviate from the current IP addresses.
Special Notice
Please note the shorter than usual notification lead time and that all explicit proxy devices must be updated, per the guidance above, before the end of the maintenance window. In addition, it is possible that we will be forced to retire the current explicit proxy hostnames earlier than planned. If this occurs, we will send another communication.
Impact
During this maintenance event all services will remain operational and available. The following describes what happens to connected clients, depending on access method used:

Important Changes for Explicit-Proxy Customers in Mainland China ONLY
As a result of a new government regulatory requirement in China, all explicit proxy connections to WSS must be directed to a new Chinese-registered hostname which will be provided in a future communication, likely to be sent early the week of August 8, 2022. The underlying IP addresses will not change.
Special Notice
The purpose of this communication is to prepare you for a shorter than usual maintenance notification lead time. We strongly recommend making preparations to switch devices in mainland China to the new hostname as soon as we provide it because it is possible that we will be forced to perform the maintenance earlier than planned, if circumstances beyond our control require it. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
